Here at Peat Pits Farm, nestled in the Peak District National Park we care passionately about our beautiful environment and we want very much to share it with you.  If you come and stay with us you can enjoy all that the peak district has to offer - beautiful landscapes, dark skies and  an abundance of nature, wildlife and glorious walks right on your doorstep.  You can taste delicious local produce and home made bread from our complimentary welcome tray and collect eggs from our lovely free range hens.

We try our hardest to look after the Peak District and support our fantastic local businesses.  Here's how......

Wonderful local Food:

We only use local suppliers for our complimentary welcome trays. This means that our products not only taste fantastic - they are good for the local environment too!

If you would like to sample more local products you can take a short walk down to the village and visit Bradfield's very own micro brewery where you can purchase an array of local beers - Bradfield Blonde, Farmers Ale or Brown Cow to name but a few. You can also take a walk or a short bus journey to Dungworth, the home of Our Cow Molly Ice Cream and the Sheffield Honey Company.   At Our Cow Molly you can visit the new born calves, lambs and hens whilst sampling delicious ice-cream made right there on the farm.  We also provide complimentary jams and marmalade for your breakfast made by local company 'Just Preserves'  using traditional methods and natural products.  If you want to get hold of  more to take home (and we think you will!) you can purchase extra jars from the local award winning village post office in Low Bradfield.

If you time your visit right, don't forget to pay a visit to the local farmers market held at the village hall on the second Saturday of every month - and if your timing isn't quite right then don't worry, there are lots of other markets we can direct you to in the local area.

Cosy and Low Carbon:

We want your stay to be as comfortable as possible and we are sure you will find our cottages cosy and warm in the colder months with the help of optimum roof insulation and thermostatic radiators.  In addition, all electric is supplied by 'Good Energy', an award winning electricity company who only source their electricity from certified renewables.

Green and Clean:

Our guests always comment on how clean and welcoming our cottages are -  we only use sweet smelling, natural, eco-friendly cleaning products  which you can try  too when you come and stay with us.

Our cottages are equipped with recycling bins to help you separate your rubbish with ease.  We have somewhere for you to recycle glass, cans, tins, paper, raw food waste, cardboard and food packaging.

We use rain water butts for watering our land and garden to help keep your  flowers in bloom and your grass green!

Hassle Free Travel:

Remember!  We are always happy to  collect you free of charge from the local bus stop if you chose to leave the car at home and arrive by public transport. We also provide storage for your bikes together with tons of information about local walks and places of interest.
